Very cool, Colin! Seems extremely useful, potentially.

I think it has real potential. For next Tuesday's AI + History Collaboratoy session on Model Context Protocol servers to access archives, libraries and historical databases, I am expanding it to show 5 pages from the same Gazette issue in a sequential manifest. They are already machine transcribed, transliterated and translated. I just need to process the images into tiles and push them to GitHub. I'll also discuss it with the IIIF community. This is a static viewer, but you could create a hosted IIIF-server which does the same. Claude Cowork estimated it coud do it with me in 25-30 hours, despite me being a non-coder. See this document for the project brief I wrote with Claude: https://github.com/ai-and-history-collaboratory/iiif-demo/blob/main/docs/IIIF_Annotation_Viewer_Memo_v2.1_21022026.md

I have updated the UI/UX for the Ottoman Turkish viewer. New features: Two pages of HTR; Accordion sidebar boxes; Persistent region indicator bar; Red highlights for clickable regions with instant display of chosen level of annotations. Here is the link to the viewer: https://ai-and-history-collaboratory.github.io/iiif-demo/viewer.html
